New Fees for GP Consultations from JULY 1, 2023
For Pensioners, Healthcare Card Holders and Children less than 16 years – we can now BULK BILL standard consultations. This is due to the Government offering an increased Bulk Billing incentive to rural GP’s from November 1, 2023.
Patients MUST SIGN a Bulk Billing Voucher to assign the Medicare Rebate to the treating GP.
Bulk Billing only applies to items : 3, 23,36,44 and 123. These items are all face to face consultation services.
Other item numbers/services provided to Pensioners, Healthcare Card Holders and Children less than 16 years may still have GAP PAYMENT of $25.00 once per calendar month. This includes services in the treatment room.
For our Regular Payers ( non- concessional patients) the PAY ON THE DAY GAP amount remains the same at $40.00 for a standard consultation – Item 23 and Item 36.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES –
- All DVA gold card holders will be Bulk Billed.
- All Chronic Disease item numbers will be bulk billed. This covers chronic disease care plans, team care arrangements and reviews.
- Home Medicine Reviews and Health Assessments are also Bulk Billed.
- Billing for Mental Health Services is per the GPs’ discretion on a case-by-case basis. Some Mental Health Care Plans and reviews are bulk billed.
- For everyone – routine vaccinations will be bulk billed- if the consult IS ONLY FOR A VACCINATION.
- Routine repeat prescriptions via telehealth are bulk billed to Medicare for Pensioners, HCC Holder and Children under 16 years. For Regular patients charging privately for a repeat prescription is up to the GP’s discretion.
